We had green and white day at school.  I put my fur coat on during our volleyball tournament to cheer up my team.  I will do anything to make them happy.

Thanksgiving

I went to Calgary this weekend with my younger brother and sister to meet our new niece Gabrielle.  She is such a nice little baby.
Gabs has such big, beautiful blue eyes.
Here is the baby quilt and crib skirt I made for Gabs.  Michelle said she wished she blogged the baby's room.  Michelle decided she would write blanket and skirt handmade by my sister and someone would post, "You are so lucky to have such a handy sister," and Michelle would reply, "I know," and they would continue to blog back and forth.  The story was surprisingly detailed.  She is a little sleep deprived these days.

We had to take a picture of the five youngest Tilford siblings.  We passed Gabs down the line so when you scrolled through the photos the only thing that changed was the baby in our arms.  We laughed and laughed.
Michelle said she would punch me in the face if Gabs opened her eyes while wearing my glasses.  Luckily she did not.

Kalin and Emma created a lovely chocolate fruit pizza.
Double fruit pizza... I knew I became a home ec teacher for a reason.  I did some lunges while holding 10 kg of flour to make up for my indulgences.
Heaven and Shamara made a delicious vanilla fruit pizza.  I would know, I had a piece.
Kenzie and Taylor designed a beautiful fruit swirl pizza.
Shawna and Ashley chose not to be photographed with their pizzas.  Ashley is probably still laughing about letting me lick the same spatula Kalin had already licked; do not trust that red head.

Siobhan and Gabby went for a grape explosion in the middle of their pizza.
Lauryn and Kiley used their fruit pizza to share love... literally.
Heidi casually slipped into the lab just as the girls were putting the finishing touches on their pizzas.  What a nice coincidence...
Abi and Taryn tried to look creepy behind their baking.  I'd say they nailed it.

Replace Olympics with first day of school and this is me.

Sunday, 2 September 2012

I went to a roller derby boot camp this weekend.  It was tons of fun and I learned a lot.  Hopefully I can remember it all and put it into action next weekend at my bout.  I played in my first scrimmage and really leveled some girls.  It felt so great!  Unfortunately I spent more time in the penatly box than I would have liked to.  I think the refs just liked calling out Becka the Wrecka.  I don't blame them.

Sophie started crawling a little bit today!

Sr volleyball try outs start tomorrow at 6:30 in the gym.  Come prepared to sweat.  We're playing for keeps this year.

Friday, 24 August 2012

Hannah was styling my hair and told me I looked beautiful.  Her small, clammy hands are surprisingly deft.
I have no idea how she did this; she wasn't even using a comb!
We brought in our corn for freezing today.  It took me, Dad, and Lisa an hour and a half to pick and husk the whole patch.

Thursday, 23 August 2012

Lisa, me, and Rachel shared two chairs at my cousin's wedding in Calgary.  They had a dog for the ring bearer.  The look on my aunt's face was priceless when he came down the aisle.
Even Sophie loves petting the new kittens.
This picture was taken when Cinnamon Frank and Callie were still friends.  Callie told me last night the kittens now love her so much they hate her.  She says it makes them happy to scratch her.  After watching her with the cats, I think I agree.  I'm pretty sure Professor Sprinkles was smiling while clawing her.
Hannah took this picture for me.  She is getting to be quite the photographer.
Professor Sprinkles, Cinnamon Frank, and Cutie Pie like to snuggle on the step then try to run in the house when we open the door.  They pretend they are sleeping, but I think they are plotting their next run.  It never gets old listening to Mom yell, "Help, the cats are in the house! Help, girls!"
