Tuesday and Wednesday

ELA 7: The classes worked on their rough copies of their letter to the future.
CE 20: After some notes and discussion on the Nicean Creed, the girls started writing their own creeds.
PAA 8: Lots of great sewing is happening in the lab. The sweaters will be ready to wear soon!
CE 9: We started a new section on emotions.
CE 7: The class created posters to encourage the school to live out the message of the Jubilee Year of Mercy.

Sept. 21-Sept. 25

ELA 7: The classes have been working on character sketches. Next week we will begin a novel study. I am so excited.
CE 7: Work on the comic strips about being whole continued Monday and Tuesday. After starting a self-improvement diamond poem, we learned a new song. The class will be exploring different types of communities and how they fit into them.
CE 9: Review of the beatitudes through a Beatitudes Burger activity.
CE 20: We continued to explore the question "Who is Jesus?" and began learning about the Holy Spirit.
Sewing 8: We have been learning how to sew buttons. After pushing through the frustrating beginning stages, the students are doing great work. No more excuses for missing buttons!

Sept.8- Sept.11

CEH 7: The class informally presented their coat of arms and met in small groups to discuss some personal interview questions. We took a personality quiz to find out a little more about ourselves and how we can use that information to understand and work well with others.
CE 9: We looked closely at the Beatitudes and applied them to our daily lives.
CE 20: The girls worked on their Prayer Booklets.
Sewing 8: After tracing out the sweater pattern, the class practiced threading the sewing machine and sewing straight stitches.
ELA 7: We worked on "Some Days You're the Puppy" questions. After doing a frontloading activity, we read "The Adventurous Life of John Goddard" and started to create our own To Do List.

Welcome 2015-2016 School Year!

I am so excited to be back at Rivier for a new school year. This year we have switched to a two-day cycle and it's going to be wonderful. Use this blog to stay up to date with my classes and major events at school.

May 11-15

CE 7: We will prepare for our Rivier Mass next week.
CE 20: We will finish watching "When the Game Stands Tall" and discuss the importance of promises.
Math 8: The class is finishing up a tessellation project that is due on Thursday.  Our last unit quiz will be Thursday, then we will begin reviewing for the final.
Foundations 30: We started our new unit Polynomial Functions.  This is our sixth unit out of eight so we are right on track.  We will work on 6.1-6.3 this week.
PAA 7: Sewing our aprons in the double and finishing up our theory in the single.
PAA 9: Sewing our projects in the double and discussing clothing options in the single.
PAA 9/10: We will finish watching "Julie and Julia".
