Monday

ELA 8: Read page 20-25 and worked on critical reading by asking questions such as: Why did the author write this? What is the meaning behind the myth? What does it teach us about gender roles? Who is being represented or not represented?
Sewing 7: Questions 7-12 due Tuesday May 8.  Refresher on threading the machines and began experimenting with a straight stitch.  Tomorrow is our double and we need to come ready to work.
Science 7: Introduction to Interactions within Ecosystems.
ELA 9: Sonnet Superstars worksheet
Media 20: Newspaper work period
My best friend's dog had four puppies.  They were so cute even though they cried like little babies when we held them.

ELA 7: Watched and discussed The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.  The potluck was so much fun.
ELA 8: Read about Apollo, Artemis, Dionysus and Hermes.  The goal is four jot notes under each god or goddess.  
ELA 9: Work period for Romeo and Juliet writing assignments.  They are due Wednesday May 2.

Tuesday and Thursday

ELA 7: Last work period for the final projects.  They are due next Tuesday.  We will be watching The Boy in the Striped Pajamas tomorrow.
ELA 8: We read pages 8-13 in Greek Myths and Legends.  Pages 14-15 on Athene and five jot notes are for homework.
ELA 9: Act five quiz and writing work period.
CE 7: We worked on day brighteners and brain teasers.

My New Hair and Glasses!!

 Yes, these are prescriptions.  Elton John and Sian were my inspirations.
My only regret with my new hair extensions is that I didn't go quite big enough.  Next time, I guess.

Monday

ELA 7: Working on the lit circles final project.  Tomorrow will be the last day to work.
CE 7: Short reading on what true happiness looks like.  Students had the choice between a poster, a letter or a definition on happiness.  There will be 20 minutes to finish on Thursday. 
ELA 8: Began new unit on Greek Mythology.
ELA 9: Corrected Act 5 questions then worked on final writing projects.  The last quiz will be tomorrow.
Media 20: Advertising notes and working on newspaper assignment.  We will be working on this assignment for the next five classes at least.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

CE 7: Discussion on what is true happiness.  The girls that forgot their interviews will share on Monday.
ELA 7: Finished reading our novels and have began working on the final projects.  We haven't set a due date yet.  We are planning a class potluck for Friday April 27.  We will also be watching The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas that day as a wrap up to our literature circles unit.
ELA 8: Finished our provincial writing assessment.  Any students that didn't quite finished are invited to go to the exam room at lunch next week.  I have to send back all the assessments next Friday.
ELA 9: Finished reading Romeo and Juliet.  We will corrected Act V questions on Monday and the quiz will be on Tuesday.  There will be three writing assignments instead of a final exam.  We will watch the movie sometime in the next two weeks.
Science 7: Cogeneration booklets were due Thursday.  We wrote notes and discussed forms of energy.

Tuesday

ELA 7: We will set a due date for the final projects together tomorrow.
ELA 8: We began our provincial writing assessment with planning.  Tomorrow the students will be writing the first draft.  There will be two classes Thursday to revise and write the final draft.
ELA 9: We listened to Romeo and Juliet Act 4 Scene 3-5 the worked on the act questions
Science 7: Finished cogeneration pamphlets.  They will be due Thursday April 19.

ELA 7: Final sections of literature circles and working on the final projects
ELA 8: Student Questionnaire for the provincial writing assessment
CE 7: Recipes for happiness and sorrow due Wednesday.  Remember to interview someone to find out what they believe is necessary for happiness.  A one-two paragraph write up on what you learned is due Wednesday as well.
Science 7: Working on cogeneration pamphlet.
Media 20: Notes on bias in the news and News Radio

ELA 9: Corrected Act 3 questions and read Act 4 Scene 1.  The Act 3 quiz will be tomorrow.
ELA 7: Literature circles section 6 and 7.  I will hand out the final project tomorrow.
Sewing 7: Began cutting out our aprons and paper sewing.  We had a great time.

I hope to see you at the basket ball game against the firemen tonight.

Monday

ELA 8: Worked on personal editing.  Final projects are due tomorrow.  Be prepared to present or play.
PAA 7: Introduction to the sewing machine. Questions #1-3 are due next Day 1.
Science 7: Diagram on Heating Systems and discussion on cogeneration.
ELA 9: Iambic pentameter poem.  Act 3 quiz will be tomorrow.
