Thursday

CE 9: We did a choral reading of a retelling of the prodigal son and wrote short notes on Reconciliation.
Science 8: The girls finished their lab reports on The Best Boat and read page 228-230.  Page 231 #1-5 is due Tuesday May 28.
CE 7 T: I handed back the letters to God and students had the chance to give some advice to fellow students.  The rest of the class was for catch up of missing assignments.
PAA 9: Notes on Laundering Clothing and the start of a clothing needs assignment
PAA 7 C: The girls baked and decorated the most beautiful red velvet cupcakes.

Wednesday/ Thursday

PAA 9: We did some great sewing work.  Aunt MaryAnn was a huge help again and will come whenever she is available.
CE 7: Yesterday the kids wrote a short quiz and today we started our new unit of Belonging.  We did speed conversations with the topic of being picked on.  The kids wrote letters to God about issues they are having in their lives.
CE 9: We finished the lilies and they look awesome.  Tomorrow we will start the Forgiveness in Scripture assignment.
Science 8: Page 222 #1-2, read pg 223-224 and prepared for The Best Boat we will be doing tomorrow.
PAA 7T: The kids baked some beautiful Kit Kat cheesecake brownies that they will get to enjoy tomorrow.  They have to chill in the fridge over night for all the flavors to blend and so the base firms up.

Tuesday

CE 9: We tried our hand at origami lilies.  It was also a lesson in patience and fine motor skill practice.
Science 8: We read page 218-221 and wrote notes on Buoyancy and Gravitational Forces, Fish's Swim Bladder and Submarines.
CE 7T: The students read parables and answered some reflection questions.  There will be a short quiz tomorrow.  Read page 120 to review.
PAA 9: We discussed our clothing inventories and ways to pay for purchases.  Short notes on clothing care.
PAA 7C: Kit Kat Cheesecake brownies... we will enjoy them tomorrow as they have to cool in the fridge for at least four hours.

Wednesday

CE 7: We read a modern parable of the prodigal son and deconstructed The Lord's Prayer.  The recipes for happiness were due today.
CE 9: The kids worked on a satisfaction acrostic.  They will be due Tuesday May 14.  The stories were due today.
PAA 7T: Baked banana chocolate chip muffins
Science: Corrected CYP and read page 214-216.  Wrote some notes on bouyancy.

Last week was spirit week.  My mom kept all of her favorite dresses over the years so I had many options for each day.  Here is my favourite from 70's day.

Monday and Tuesday

CE 7T: Happiness is... booklet and notes on parables.  We did some fun activities to shake up our thinking.
Science: CYP Page 213 #1-8 due Wednesday
PAA 9: We wrote notes on purchasing clothing.  Complete wardrobe inventory due Tuesday May 14.  In our double we sewed.  We have five doubles left until the end of the year.  We need to pick up the pace.

Tuesday

Science 8: We did some notes on calculating density and the relationship between density and temperature.
PAA 7: We labeled kitchen and baking utensils on a work sheet.  Next week we bake banana chocolate chip muffins.
CE 7 C: We worked on a "Happiness is..." booklet as a class.
CE 9: Heart of Gold... the students rewrote scriptures on how to have a pure heart.
