CE 7: The students continued working on their pictorial time lines. The time lines will be due Tuesday.
ELA 8: We began our new unit on poetry. Two concrete poems and an alliteration poem are due tomorrow.
ELA 7: We finished reading Two Against the North. After a handout on character sketches the students had time to work on their prewriting. I will be checking the prewriting tomorrow. They will have class time tomorrow to write and edit their rough copy. Good copy is due Wednesday.
PAA 8: The students answered questions on sewing tools/ supplies and application.

CE 7: We read page 18 and 19 together, then wrote some notes. The students will need their Bibles on Friday.
ELA 8: The girls skimmed "Feeling Good, Looking Great" for 25 adjectives. Have your lists ready for tomorrow. Each student is to interview someone and be ready to discuss tomorrow.
ELA 7: We corrected questions and started writing a journal entry from the point of view of Jamie or Awasin with a focus on how the character must be feeling about their chances of rescue and survival. The students were asked to write a minimum of three paragraphs. The journal entries are due tomorrow.
PAA 8: We sewed in the lab. The sweaters are getting pretty close. I am impressed with all the seamstresses.

ELA 7: The students handed in their character sketches with punctuation, capitals, conjunctions, and characteristics marked.
CE 7: We wrote some notes on the Medicine Wheel and coloured our own wheels. We celebrated Sydney's birthday.
PAA 8: The patterns came in and we were able to start cutting out our fabric.

ELA 7: The class edited their character sketches and wrote out the good copy double spaced in pen. The character sketches are due Wednesday. We will correct the run-on sentence worksheets tomorrow.
CE 7: In small groups, the students normal grade seven students. As a class we wrote notes on how a normal student acts, feels, fears, loves, and how they see God. We read "A Very Strange Visit" in the textbook on page 13+14.
ELA 8: We finished our skills speeches and started out CTBS testing. This will take up the next two weeks.
CE 20: The girls watched the transformation St Paul from Christian persecutor to apostle. I have the video for those that were absent to watch.

The First Day of School
I am so excited for another year to begin. Today we tried to get organized and prepared for the week. We will be using the agenda everyday, so I ask that you check on their homework, sign the date, and send it back to school. Please send back page 18 signed to ensure your child can use the internet at school. Meet the Teacher BBQ is Thursday September 17. I look forward to meeting everyone at the BBQ.

I had derby in Red Deer this weekend and won Jammer MVP for my team! Then I won a gold medal at the after party with Colette for being the first to finish a scavenger hunt. Come check out my team at the A&W Show and Shine this Friday 5-8.

CE 7 T: I handed back the letters to God and students had the chance to give some advice to fellow students. The rest of the class was for catch up of missing assignments.

PAA 9: We did some great sewing work. Aunt MaryAnn was a huge help again and will come whenever she is available.
CE 7: Yesterday the kids wrote a short quiz and today we started our new unit of Belonging. We did speed conversations with the topic of being picked on. The kids wrote letters to God about issues they are having in their lives.
CE 9: We finished the lilies and they look awesome. Tomorrow we will start the Forgiveness in Scripture assignment.
Science 8: Page 222 #1-2, read pg 223-224 and prepared for The Best Boat we will be doing tomorrow.
