ELA 7: We finished up our mini unit on "The Summer of the Swans" and have began our new unit on Mysteries and Uncanny Incidents. We will be reading lots of mysteries and working on identifying fact verses opinion. Later in the unit we will write a newspaper article about a mystery then revamping that article so it could be featured in National Enquirer.
CE 7: We are in the process of preparing for Christmas through Advent celebration. All the girls have finished the ornaments to hang on our Jesse Tree. Make sure your daughter can explain why she made her ornament and can make a connection to Jesus when describing her bible verse.
SCI 7: We have started a new unit on Heat. After getting deeper into the swing of things, I look forward to more experiments in our second unit.
ELA 8: We are half way through our novel "Holes". This week we will create titles for the chapters and continue listening to the cd and taking turns reading.
ELA 9: We are powering through our unit on Norse and Indigenous Narratives. Tomorrow we will create an introductory paragraph for our character sketches together then work on our own. The character sketches will be due later in the week. Once we finish vision quest narratives we will watch "Brother Bear". The evaluation for this unit will be a re-telling of a Christmas myth. The unit will be finished around Christmas. If Violet continues to keep the class on track, we will watch Thor as a treat at the end as well.
PAA 12: We will start a new unit on Personal Finance tomorrow.
