ELA 9: Read Zits comic strip on page 58 in Crossroads and using RAFTS, create a piece of work on the topic of adolescence. Watched an episode of Modern Family (Lifetime Supply) and discussed the different roles and types of love in a family.
Science 7: Hot Chocolate lab in the Home Ec lab

Thursday

ELA 7: We began our writing assessment with the prompt: you are a billionaire who has one million dollars to donate to a deserving person or organization.
ELA 8: We began our five paragraph autobiography for the upcoming writing assessment.
CE: Listened to "The Little Star of Montpezat" and coloured in our colouring books.
Science 7: Typed the first half of the hot chocolate lap report.

Tuesday and Wednesday

ELA 9: Finished watching "A Lion Called Christian" and read two poems on family
ELA 7: Write Traits handout and RAFTS worksheet

PAA 7: Cut out apron pieces and practiced paper sewing.

Monday, January 23

ELA 8:New unit on Survival. We will also start focusing on the six writing traits for the upcoming writing assessment.

Science 7: Midterm
ELA 9: New unit on Love and Loyalty. We watched a Lion Called Christian and discussed love.
Media 20:Analyzed main stream music videos and discussed who is represented and how.

Semester Two!!

Here we come Semester Two! The 7C's are beginning sewing first so please bring your fabric. We start sewing Tuesday. Grade 7, 8, and 9 ELA will begin with a focus on writing and grammar. After reading the midterms, I found some areas we need to work on. I am excited to begin Media Studies. We are starting where Mrs. Trumier left off.
